Freedom Center Kids is our children’s ministry for Nursery - 5th Grade. We provide childcare and gospel-centered lessons during our Sunday services at 8:00am and 10:30am, as well as our Wednesday service at 6:30 pm.
Our dedicated team creates a safe, nurturing environment where kids can explore biblical truths through interactive lessons, worship, and hands-on activities.
Whether your child is taking their first steps in the nursery or diving deeper into their faith in elementary school, Freedom Center Kids is here to support their spiritual journey. We can't wait to welcome your family and be a part of your child’s faith adventure!
1st-5th Grade Director - Kara Torres
Since 2011, Kara Torres has served as a deeply valued member of our congregation—a journey that has beautifully led to her current role as our Children’s Ministry Director. Raised in the faith as a pastor's daughter, she has spent a lifetime giving back to the church through various ministry programs.
Her life took a providential turn at the age of twenty when, while working at the Boys & Girls Club, she reconnected with a childhood friend she had initially met at age three. They were married in 2014, and today, they are blessed with three children. Alongside actively homeschooling her family, Kara now dedicates her time and leadership to shaping the future of our church through our children's ministry.
Nursery-Kinder Director- Terry Parker
Terry was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but she lived in Texas for the last 43 years. Terry met her husband here in Texas. Her and her Husband have been married for 38 years and are the proud parents of three boys. One married. Terry attended Louisiana State University and University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL). She is an avid LSU Tiger fan! The Beach is her favorite place to relax!
Children and Seniors have a special place in her heart. Terry has been in Cost Control, Inventory Control, Graphic Arts and other jobs but her most treasured job was being a Pre-School Teacher for 11 years and now a Sunday School Director for the 4/5 year olds and the Nursery Director here at the Freedom Center. Planting seeds of Jesus to HIS little children is “the most rewarding thing” she has had the privilege to do!
